Cultural Resource Studies

Many projects, particularly those that involve state, federal or municipal funding, require a cultural resources investigation to determine potential for the presence of historical or cultural (Native American) sites.

Griggs & Maloney has conducted many cultural resource studies for several clients.  These studies have been conducted by some of the most qualified personnel in the state.

Some parcels include cemeteries with graves marked and unmarked - even outside cemetery fencing.  It is a crime (Class E Felony) in our state to disturb a grave without prior consultation with the Medical Examiner, the County Coroner or the State Archeologist and the local law enforcement agency.  Graves can only be moved with the authority of the the Chancery Court.  Griggs & Maloney can investigate cemetery locations and advise the best course of action to mitigate the presence of gravesites.
